TaylorCraft Cabinet Door Company - History

TaylorCraft Cabinet Door Company’s roots date back to 1971 when James Burrows founded a small cabinet shop in central Texas to serve the local market. His focus was always on customer satisfaction and innovation and his business boomed as a result. Through the years his shop grew larger and he moved and expanded into new locations. His father Benjamin Burrows joined him in operating the business and later his son James (Sherman) Burrows learned the cabinet making trade and was working alongside his father. Their reputation for consistent quality work and dependable service helped them become the supplier of choice for high-end home builders and remodelers.

As they grew they invested heavily in machinery and skilled labor, and as outsourcing became a more viable option they used many cabinet door suppliers to help fuel their growth while keeping overhead and labor costs in check. After working with many suppliers and not finding a consistent and affordable outsourcing option, they spent millions of additional dollars on innovative equipment and tooling and recruited additional skilled woodcraftsmen so they could supply their own growing need for a wide selection of custom cabinet doors and the ability to create custom door styles for their high-end clients. They also began making doors for nearby cabinetmakers who knew their reputation for high quality work and quick lead times and who had shared their need for a reliable business partner to provide cabinet doors.

As the door business expanded and the Burrows’ interest in the door manufacturing side of the business grew, TaylorCraft Cabinet Door Company was born. TaylorCraft Cabinet Door Company continues to invest in custom machinery, technology and the people necessary to dependably provide exceptional quality cabinet doors.  TaylorCraft Cabinet Door Company is located in Taylor, Texas just east of Austin and serves cabinetmakers in the United States as well as the international market.
